Here we are

You all have been waiting for a week now for the pictures from the "Family Reunion Tour 2007". But before you see them I have to give a few shout outs!

First shout goes to Rob, Heather, Kat and Laney. Thank you for making the long haul by car from TX to GA. We are so happy you made the trip this way. Next goes to mike, Tara and Evan for hosting this event. You really out did yourselves. Thank you for organizing and paying for the photo shoot. Dad and Jackie, Thank you for coming down and all the yummy grub. Dad you can cook for us any time. This was all for you.

You have waited long enough bloggers:

Here they are:
Derrick picking out what to pack

All the boys getting reacquainted.

Evan sharing DA CRIB
Derrick thinking "cops are more cool than firefighters"

Look at all the babies. I like how you can see the age difference just in how they are sitting/lying down. Derrick 4 1/2 months, Evan 6 1/2 months and Laney just shy of 10 months.

Lola stopped by to see all the babies. Heather with the baby Derrick and Laney.

Big Derrick just being Big Derrick

The picture we were all wanting.

HAPPY 13th BIRTHDAY KATHRYN!!!!!

Derrick just not wanting to go to bed after all the excitement

Evan kicking my kid's butt.
Evan may be older but Derrick will be bigger soon.

Time to say goodbye. Baby Derrick got a little heavy on the booze the night before.

Laney says "I am gonna miss my Derrick"

Katy said "I am gonna miss my girls"

Evan said " I will eat your nose. Bring my cousin back soon"

Last but not least, goodbye to Kathryn. Happy birthday again. I love you very much.

Thank you again to all my family. I love you all so much.

Family History

OK I have the camera in Baby Derrick's room so no pictures this time. Little Man fell asleep with a death grip on the crib bumper and I wanted to take a picture but when I got there it was too late. I will have a post regarding the past weekend FULL of pictures. But first a lesson on Family History.
I have two brothers, one older Rob and Mike who is younger. Rob married Heather in 1999. Rob has a daughter Kathryn who is now 13. Rob and Heather have Laney from "Laney's Mommy" who is just shy of 10 months old. Mike married Tara, who got me into this blog thing, in September 2005 . Mike and Tara are the proud parents of Evan born in December 2006, from "Evan's Life". I am Katy and I married Derrick in September of 2005 (after 8 years) and had Derrick III in February 2007 . Rob, Heather, Kathryn and Laney live in Houston, TX. Mike, Tara and Evan live in Atlanta GA. The Derrick's and I live in Valdosta, GA.
This past weekend I was given 3 days off and we headed up to the big city of Atlanta for the big BABY BOOM. It was so wonderful to have the whole family all in the same place at the same time. Tara and Mike were great hosts the chaos of all the Falk kids and their kids. I am so happy we all got together I just wish we could have spent more time together. Keep checking on me for all the pictures!!!!

I hope you had a super wonderful, magnificent day full of cake, ice cream and great gifts.

Second of all I want to wish all the daddies
Happy Father's Day!

Dad, you have given me so much love and encouragement over all the years. I would be lost without you. I love you!

Derrick, You are the best dad to baby Derrick I could ever ask for. All the love and support you have given our son is more than I could have ever imagined. Next to my dad you are the best!!

Rob, this is now your 12th year as a daddy. You have raised such a lovely young lady that I love very much. I can not wait to meet Laney as see what a doll she is in person.

Mike, I am very happy yo see that you are a daddy. You are a great role model for Evan to follow.

I hope all of you had a great day. I love you!!!

SHOT DAY

No the shots were not for me. Derrick went in for his round of 4 month shots this morning. His stats:

Length: 26 inches

Weight: 16 pounds 2 ounces

Head: Don't remember

Clean bill of health. I do not think they believed me when they asked if he coos and giggles and I replied "all the time". He just was not in the mood this morning. Heck, he made hella poo the night before. We dragged him out of bed at the crack of dawn to get needles poked in his legs. would you be happy??? I do not think so. Oh and yes I said we had to drag him out of bed. This baby can sleep. I wonder where he gets that from???? We have been oh so blessed with a baby who sleeps oh so well at night. He will wake at times but he turns on Fish TV (the Fisher Price aquarium thing my dad bought for him) and he is back out. (Or a quick slip of the paci).

Have a good one!!

If that is not a baby who smiles and coos, I do not know what is!

Potty Party

My 4 MONTH and 5 DAY old baby made POO IN THE POTTY!!!
Oh yes I did say potty party. This is a good one. OK, a little graphic here but anyway. Baby Derrick is a once a day poo kind of guy. The lone poo does not have a specific time each day just once. Well, Little Man had been pooless for 2 days now. We had no success with all the good home poo relief remedies. Tonight at bath time I had him stay in the bath with warm water to help him out. Oh and it did. I began to hold him over my hand so I could wash his back and then, I saw the poo,(ewwww). My instinct was to hang him over the toilet. So there he was hovering over the potty and making poo in the potty. I called for big Derrick to give me a hand. No answer. I am still calling Big Derrick for a hand. He was in the kitchen cleaning up after dinner and did not hear me over the dishes. Big Derrick finally came to my rescue. He just busted out laughing at us. He took Little Man from me and cleaned him up while I disinfected the bath and started all over. Nothing like a good poo to get a laugh.

Real Food Take Two

I came home from work early the other day and I knew something was wrong. There was a bib in the table with some orange stains on it. I look at Baby Derrick and see some of the same orange stains on this white T. My husband who is now the Investigator for his police department, claimed he knew nothing of the stains. I did my own investigating and found a jar of half eaten carrots. BUSTED!!
I had to join in on the FUN!!!
Mom's first time with carrots,

did not seem so bad

but soon the carrots were everywhere.

Most of them did end up in his mouth. YUM YUM
If that is not a face to love, I do not know what is.
Needless to say he dug the carrots. The laundry did not on the other hand.

Happy Anniversary Rob and Heather

First off my apologies for getting this blog out so late. I was setting this up and while uploading pictures the computer died. We just had a new one installed about 10 minutes ago and this was the first thing I did. Enjoy

Happy Anniversary Rob and Heather

We all wish you a Happy 8 Year Anniversary.

Here is to many more great years ahead!

And a few wacky Christmas Nights!

That leads us to one big Happy Family

I wanted to end with a picture from the wedding of the whole family on it but this is all I have.

Project day!

Dear Aunt Tara, Uncle Mike and Cousin Evan,
Thank you so much for my exer saucer. My daddy put it together last weekend for me. He had a real hard time with it. Grandma was in town so she kept me entertained while he worked on this through 2 Trading Spaces episodes and half a Real Simple episode. Here are a few pictures mommy took. The first one is Daddy getting all the parts out of all the plastic bags (no he did not let me play with the plastic bags).

Here is grandma keeping me happy during the first hour.

Dad finally began to look at the directions. They are helpful there pops!

Grandma is teasing me with a chocolate candy bar. It looks so yummy.
It is beginning to look right there daddy.

Blessed bovines this is the coolest thing yet. I have horses, lions, elephants a bird of some kind and a circus tent that sings "Does your Chain Hang Low?" This rocks!!!
Thank you so much for such a great gift. I have really enjoyed the exer saucer. It would be really cool if you can make a trip down sometime to play with me so you can see in real life how cool this thing is.

Oh and to see my mom and dad too. They miss you. My dad is a little nuts with the tools so you better watch out and do not let him fix anything.

Anyway, it is time for some grub and a nap. Oh and by the way, my daddy does have other t shirts. He just never wears them. He likes this one because it is "air conditioned". I just think it is old with all the holes in the arm pits. Hope to see you soon.
Love,
Derrick

The New Super Heroes

Move over Superman, Spider man, Batman and Robin. There are two new super heroes in town. I am introducing to you all for the first time.

Superboppy and is side kick, Bumbobuddy!!

These two are going to rid the world of everyday wrong doing. For example, making sure people flush the toilet in public. Reminding drivers that red means stop and green means go as well as to use a blinker. They are going to make sure all dogs in vehicles are not in the driver's lap and are secure in a puppy seat belt. They are going to put an end to people taking on their cell phones so loud that the whole world can hear their conversation (ever wonder why you had a dropped call). And to make sure that everyone wear mesh shorts on a daily basis.

Seven Things

1. I have an obsession for Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby”. I have my very own dance I choreographed in 1990 with the help of Jen and Laura. My bother Mike was in on the action that summer night, but I still do not think he will admit to it. I have done the Ice Ice baby dance for many occasions and for many folks. The most recent was my wedding. This was the last time it has been seen. I have preformed in many different bars in Florida and Georgia. Yes, I was pretty drunk most of the time when I did the dance.

2. The first time I tried to cook breakfast was a disaster. I was about 8 years old and I wanted to make croissants for breakfast. The directions on the package were for convection and conventional ovens. Somehow I read the convection oven to be a convenient oven and than decided that the microwave was convenient. Let’s just say it was bad, real bad. I put raw dough in the microwave for 10 to 12 minutes and after about 3 the worst smell ever began to filter over the whole house. I still hate to cook breakfast.

3. I stuck an eraser up my nose when I was 10 years old. It was an accident but it did land me in the ER.

4. When I met my husband for the first time, he was carrying a keg of beer.

5. Our first date was a court date. I had a ticket for defective equipment. He had an expired tag and a seat belt violation. My ticket was dismissed he paid a fine. I had to pay for dinner.

6. I have been to 12 weddings. I have been either a bridesmaid or had a reading in all but one of them. I have learned I get super emotional at weddings and I am a horrible reader because I cry my way through it. Put me in a dress and hand me a bouquet and I am better, but not by much.

7. I really enjoy a cold beer. OK who am I kidding I enjoy a FEW cold beers. Right now at 2:30 AM, a cold beer and a blog are a good way to wrap up a long day. It is my quiet time. So if I ever misspell or just do not make any sense you know why.

Have a great weekend all my blogging buddies.
