One for you, one for me!!!

I am amazed that at nine months old, Derrick George can share his lunch.
Today's menu:
Carrots
Potatoes
Hot Dogs (cut into very small pieces)
I hope you enjoy!!!

EGGOS anyone????

My Boy is a hot mess when it comes to food.
Derrick George can get it everywhere and anywhere. This morning we had EGGOS and bananas for breakfast. YUMO!!

After devouring the banana, he tore into the EGGO

WHAT A MESS!!! Time for clean up!

You can crawl but you can not hide!!
Just the first of at least 3 changes of clothes we do a day. I think I might just have to start feeding him half naked.

YEA FOR J AND J

This past weekend out friends Jenna and Jamey came up for a visit. I had to work that afternoon and Derrick got called out for a few hours. Jenna and Jamey had the time to hand out with little man. Thank you!!!! They had a blast with him. Last week he figured out how to clap. This weekend he put the clapping and standing together!!

Hair cut time!!

I have had enough of the "SHE is so cute", "look at all of HER hair", " I love HER curls" So I took him to my salon and had my buddy Billy give him his first cut. As you can see Derrick George was not to thrilled about the whole thing. He was very good. He just sat there with that sad look on his face.

LOOK AT ALL THAT HAIR

OK this picture is not great because the shadow behind him makes him look like he has a 'fro!!!!!

For our first Halloween I picked out the best costume EVER. I got it from The Children's 's Place when the girls and I went to the beach in AUGUST. My baby was a turtle. We went to Safe Halloween sponsored by the areas cops and firefighters. WE joined our friends and their 4 kids and had a great time. One of their kids won the best costume contest. She dressed up as a sock hop girl. We got a ton of candy, rode on ponies and went on a hay ride!!

My Pumpkin With His Pumpkins

Little Man and I had a blast just before The big day. Here are a few of the dozen or so pictures I took.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! No I have not fallen of the face of the blogging world. We are still around.

I have been crazy busy lately. I will leave you with some pumpkin pictures. I was a bad mommy and bought mine at the old Wal-Mart. I did carve them withe the help of Derrick George, OK, he just laughed every time I pulled the goo from the pumpkin.

That boy gets around!!!!

Who needs a fort when you have an exersaucer????

He was born to go go go go. We let Little Man start working on his walking skills in the walker the other day. He had some trouble maneuvering the walker on the pavement but he figured it out in a quickness.
Just a little break. This walking thing is tiring.

Here he goes

The weekend

Saturday was my girl Nicole's Bridal Shower. Andrea hosted the great event at her home in Stepford. She was a great hostess. We all brought some grub. I am the queen of home made chex mix. We all ate very well. Nicole made out very well in gifts. There were many creative gift ideas I just might have to steal from the Stepfords.

Here is out Bride to be

Ready to Party Down

The Bridal Party

Molly, Our Bride Nicole, Andrea and me Katy
Regrets to Sean and Jennifer Nichols and Corey and Katie Hill for missing their weddings this weekend.
Bath time is such a good time for family bonding and a bit of the rhyming game. During the game I found out that Derrick George thought DUCK was the most fun word ever. Every time I would day it he would just go into hysterics. I threw out other animals but DUCK was the winner. I guess he is getting Katie ready for D WEEK. He was a bit calmer when I took this but it still does the job. At one point he was laughing so hard he spit up his dinner of green beans and chicken.

On the Move

Derrick George is all over the place. I have found myself forever by his side making sure he does not make another hard fall. I loved the fact that we had hard wood floors, until Little Man started to knock himself silly. We picked up a small pack of the floor squares to help with the blows but he still misses some times.

He has been pulling him self up on the regular for the last week or so. I have developed more gray hair. He loves to attack the bookshelf in the living room. He will pull each photo down, talk to it and then drop it on the floor. Other favs include the coffee table (he really does not like the taste of it) and Derrick's leather recliner. His exersaucer, bumbo, piano and bouncing chair are up on the list too. Yesterday, he made his way up my leg!!!!!!. My sitter said he will pull himself up on their couch and inch himself down some. I was reading a baby mag and it said that most kids start to pull up around 8 months. We are 7 and a week.

He really is pulling him self up. I am just too scared that he will make a head first dive onto the hardwood floors to take a pic. I am sure you get the idea.

Have a great weekend!

Karma

It is funny how karma works. Today was a rough day for me. After work tonight I swung by the local quickie mart for a 12 pack. I was attempting to pay for my suds and their credit card system was down. I am one who does not carry much for cash. I asked the guy if I could write a check and he said that he was not suppose to but he will for me. There was a girl in line behind me waiting patiently while the clerk ran my card a gazillon times and calling the POS company. I went ahead and let her go ahead of me. She only had a gallon of milk. Low and behold the price of milk had gone up and she was short $1. When in the heck did milk get do expensive????? I gave her the dollar. I came home crack open one of my 12 friends and began going through the mail. I had not one but 2 refund checks waiting for me. One from State Farm for $44 and one from the OBGYN for $68. I guess today was not so bad after all.

Remembering 09/11

We all know the devastation that 9/11 left. Thousands of lives were lost and every one's life changed. My brother is a firefighter and my husband is a cop and I worry about them everyday. A few years ago my brother came down for a visit and gave me a book titled Brotherhood. It is a collection of pictures post 9/11 of firehouses, fire fighters and police officers. There is a section of children's artwork that was given to fire fighters after 9/11 that would bring tears to any one's eyes. I pulled the book out and showed Derrick George and told him about what happened.

Tonight at work I met a little boy and today was his birthday. His mom said he was born 10 minutes after the second plane hit the WTC. She said as lives left this world, lives came into the world. The little boy told me he wanted to be a firefighter when he grew up. Chills came over me and I could not hep but to shed a tear.

I am not sure where this picture originated but I love it.

COUPON ALERT

I know many of you mommies are always looking for a deal. Wal-Mart has a large can of Similac with 4 ready to feed 8 ounce bottles for $22 bucks. Inside the pack is a coupon for $10 off a Leap Frog purchase after the first of the year. You have to send in your receipt from the formula to get the coupon. Just wanted to share! Hope you all are having a good week.

Credit Memo

I wanted to apologize to Erin Ross for not giving her credit for the second picture on my last blog entry. Your work is full of talent that I do not want to go with out credit.

Happy Anniversary Mike and Tara

I had to go digging to find some pictures of our couple of the day. I did not have a digital camera at the time they got hitched, so I had to search for some pictures of the happy couple.

Here are Mike Tara and Evan this past January when they came down to visit.

Here is Tara looking oh so swanky in firefighter boots. YUMMMM
