Dinner Time

My parents are eating chicken enchiladas and I am stuck with this plastic ring of keys.
This stinks.

Come on daddy, give me some of the good stuff. You know you want to. Mommy just read the Gerber Spoonful book to you. She got in the mail today and I can do almost everything I should before I attempt to eat off a spoon.

Come on just some cereal and formula mixed together. Please daddy????

I know you would cave!! I rule the jungle!!

This is rather messy and I am not sure what to do here.

OK I may not be ready for this just yet

Why does the darn camera focus on my daddy's hand??

It does make a cute picture!

Well as you can see we attempted to feed the bottomless pit cereal with a spoon and it was not a complete disaster. There was more on him than in him. I do think we will wait a few more weeks to try this one again.
Most of the time we will eat dinner while he is asleep. I learned that we should introduce him to the dinner table now and have him hold a spoon. Well, the spoon almost poked his eye out. So we decided to stick the spoon where it belongs, in his mouth.

Big Derrick is so ready for Little Derrick to eat off a spoon he bought jars of baby food 3 weeks ago.
Happy Memorial Day Weekend

THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN

I sent my husband off to Florida and all he brought back was Nate My son and TWO Pictures. That is right TWO!!!

LONELY OH SO LONELY

Please humm the Mr. Lonely song to yourself.

I thought I would enjoy some time to my self without my boys. I have gone shopping, enjoyed a few hot meals and stopped at a quickie mart for a Diet Coke with out my baby in tow. There are many things that change when there is a 3-month involved. The old cliché, you don’t know what you have got till it is gone, really rings true. I can barely watch TV for more than 10 minutes with out breaking into tears. I then decided to clean house. I began in the nursery,I started to rotate out the baby clothes. You know pull out the 3-6 month stuff and send the 0-3 to charity. Another crying spell. This sucks!! I thought could handle it. I am not doing so well.

Baby Derrick is doing well. I called grandma’s house and heard him make all his baby coos, goos and eeee’s. They are off to see all the family tonight. I hope they all have a good time. I miss them so.

I am off to work now, I hope I don't see many babies.

WHO IS NATE???

OK Nate is a cop buddy and a close friend with Derrick. They have worked on and off together for a few years. He is a really single cool guy. Last year when we went to FL for Thanksgiving and Derrick discovered the Mojito at TGI Friday's. Thanks for the description Katie!! We came back and introduced the Mojito to out buddies. Nate loved them. We actually host Monday Night Mojito Night at our house. Nate and some friends come over they drink Mojitos and watch CSI Miami. There are many references to the Mojito on the show.

TWO MEN AND MY BABY

This is Nate

This is Nate with Derrick and Derrick

This is Nate, Derrick and Derrick getting the truck ready for the road.

This morning I had to say goodbye to my men and Nate as they left to go to south Florida. They are heading down to see Grandma and Great-grandma Wenna, who is in from Jamaica to meet her Great Grandson for the first time. Baby Derrick will visit with countless cousins, uncles and aunts that he met last month. The boys will probably see Big John, his lady Arrianna, Sharron, Andy and their son Cameron, and of course Guido.
I have to admit that I was worried about Derrick with the baby alone on the road. Derrick asked Nate to join him for the big trip. THANK YOU NATE!! I will buy your next Mojito.
I sent my boys off with big hugs and kisses. I thought I would be happy for some baby free, shopping, errands, house cleaning and beer drinking. I am already missing them. It has only been an hour.

I FOUND MY TOES!!!!!!!!

This morning Derrick grabbed his toes!! I was so excited I grabbed the camera and began taking pictures and realized he did not have the diaper all the was on!! I put on the diaper and took this one. Today he got his toes, tomorrow he get his ____________(rhymes with toes).

First Communion

This is Alicia J.
On Saturday one of our Godchildren got her first communion. We were so proud. She looked so pretty in her white gown. Alicia is very much a tom-boy and to see her in a dress, made a tear in my eye. Her sister Courtney had hers earlier this year. We celebrated with a big dinner together Saturday night.
Here is Courtney J.Alicia J., Savanna S.

Look what I have!

OH YES!! The Mother's Day 2007 Swatch Watch is mine. Derrick George knew exactly what I wanted. I am sure he had help from daddy and the President of the Swatch Watch Resurrection Club. The book and a pen came with it too. YEA!!
Don't you want to be part of the Swatch's return now???

Saturday, May 12, 2007

For the last 17 years Mother's Day had been a very hard holiday for me to celebrate. Seventeen years ago my mother passed away. I was only thirteen years old. Each year would pass; I began to almost hate mother’s day. All I could think was how could all these people only take one day out of the 365 days in the year to say thanks to their mother for all that she does. One day of the year to take her out to eat and treat her like a queen. The one-day to tell her how much she is loved, adored and admired. I would get so mad. My feelings this year are different. It took my son to make me realize this.

There are countless “mothers” in my life and I am thankful for all of them. Even though I lost my mother, many new “mothers” have come into my life and made an impact. There have been many of my friend’s moms there as I was growing up to ask all the girly questions to. As a young adult they would give me advise on life. My family expanded and I gained a stepmother and 2 mothers in law. I was blessed two sisters in laws that are now mothers too. Some of my friends are mothers now too. Now as a mother some of the old and the new mothers are there to help and guide me. I would be lost without them. So to all of you who are mothers, your love goes farther than your children. All the lives your children touch, you touch. Thank you to all of my mothers, especially the one I call mom.

Everyday my son looks into my eyes and gives me the biggest smile he can. Each day is my Mother’s Day!

Everyday mothers need to be told that they are loved, adored and admired. For all of you who’s mothers are still here and have been a strong role model in your life let them know as much as you can how proud you are of them. Please.

Happy Mother’s Day to all my mothers, to all the mothers and especially to my mom.

I AM 3 MONTHS OLD TODAY

I can put different fingers in my mouth and sometimes my thumb!

I can hold my head up really well!! I really enjoy bath time and a good massage. After the massage I get a bottle with some cereal and a story and I am asleep for about 6-8 hours
I can play by myself for about 20 minutes at a time, I love this play mat every time I move it sings a song to me!

Things are so funny now! I laugh all the time. My mom is a riot, she makes up a song for everything we do. I love "booties, booties rocking everywhere" when I get my diaper changed. By the way, do any of you want to bring the Swatch Watch back?
