We have really learned our way around the kitchen these last few weeks. Derrick and I have made many a dinners and desserts. He loves to come in and HELP. He brings in "his" step stool and helps to measure, mix and mash. Some is faves are Crispy Peanut Butter Balls, Hamburgers and brownies.

Who needs a stand mixer when you have a one handed 19 month old???

Daily Grind

We are now on week 3 of being home with two children and just me. It had been rough in the beginning but had gotten better. We have somewhat of a schedule. I have been attempting to keep Derrick with things to do. Projects, games things like that. I barely have time to look things up so I do the best I can. This week was finger painting. He was a bit hesitant but did well. See for yourself.

Stay at home moms out there with small children: More power to you. This is by far the hardest thing I have had to get thru. Do not get me wrong I love bonding and teaching my kids everyday, but this is tough. I want to make sure Derrick knows how special and important he is while ensuring Leah that I will be there whenever she needs me. Each day that passes is better than the day before. All I can do is look to tomorrow and the next day. I know I am gonna miss these days when I go back to work (unless I win lotto (the go back to work part)). I am getting sad now. Gotta Go!

YUCK LOVEBUGS

It is love bug season and they are in the 1000's. I had to share with you all. They are so gross and everywhere. Hubby had sprayed the house this weekend for all the other critters and it was good that he did when he did. If he had not not all these dead bugs would be fighting their way into the house.

Football Fun

This weekend was filled with football. Saturday we packed up the strollers and coolers for another Stepford Saturday. We hung with the neighbors and watched the Dawgs. Derrick is a FSU fan and all our friends are UGA fans. Derrick George was all decked out in his FSU jersey but mom had to fix that. I took a Sharpie to a onesie that he has out grown and wrote "GO DAWGS" on the front and "SICK EM" on the back. He wore the shirt under the jersey. Derrick George had a blast. He hung out with the other Stepford kids who are 3 and 6 weeks younger than him. They all ran around chasing dogs, footballs, and each other.

Sunday we were chillin at the house watching Tampa. Derrick George was playing right along side of the Bucks. I had to tape it.

OK he is reenacting the play on the TV. He is pretty in sync. When we watch football I give my own play by play, "hut one, hut two, go go go... run run..tackle/fall down". The fall down is pretty choreographed but still funny!!

Attitude is Everything

I had to chuckle the other day at my hubby. The more that I think of this story the more I laugh at it. We were heading to our friends house to watch some football. We got the diaper bags packed, strollers filled with kids and a cooler of Bud Light and were walking to their house. Hubby was in the lead with Leah in his stroller. I followed behind with Derrick George in mine. I look at hubby and while he is pushing a stroller (he has to hunch down to reach) and with a sippy cup in his back pocket his t shirt read:

Family Visit

Last weekend my brother and his family headed out to the country to meet Miss Leah, and hang with the family. Derrick was so happy to have a buddy to play with for a few days. Evan and Derrick had a blast together. Evan loved giving sweet little kisses to Leah. We loved having them over. Here are some pictures. Enjoy and have a great weekend!!!!!

After I got off the phone with your mom the other day I looked and a calender and realized that I did not mention anything about your birthday. Man, my "Aunt , Katy" skills are falling apart. Your aunt and uncle Tara and Mike took a trip with Cousin Evan out to the country to visit us and meet Leah for the first time. We were thinking of you and wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday!!
