Derrick George Is Here!!!!

We had a baby it's a boy!!!!!. Derrick George III joined our family Feb. 7, 2007. He was 7 pounds and 15 ounces and 23 inches long. He has a full head of hair. He has big Derricks nose, my mouth, Derrick's round face,my chin and Derrick's GAS!! LOL. We were in the hospital Wednesday to Saturday afternoon. I was in absolute hysterics in the hospital. As I was being wheeled down the halls of the hospital I was nervous as all get out. I was fearful of the fact that in a matter of minutes my life will change like never before. In minutes, I will have the responsibility of another life. I was in tears of joy and fear. Oh and on top of it all the fire alarms were being tested. I can say that 3D came into this world with bells and whistles. The C- section went smoothly. Daddy Derrick was great!!! You will have to get with him to hear all the off the wall things I said in recovery as I was all drugged up. I was told we had 3D in about an hour or so after delivery. I do not remember a whole lot. I know I made a few phone calls to my family. Derrick could not find my cell phone earlier that morning then he could not figure out how to work it to call all my family. I did make it back to reality about 4:00 Thursday morning. Derrick's mom flew in Thursday and left Sunday. She will come back in a few weeks. My dad came in Friday afternoon. He is still here but stuck in the hotel room with a nasty tummy bug. He has been there Sunday and Monday. He will be heading to the doctor in the morning. Derrick has been going by everyday to fill him up in Gatorade, Propel Fitness Water, ginger ale, crackers and soups. I hate that he is stuck sick here away from home. There are many adventures to be had in the future. I look forward to all of them. I had joked with a friend earlier that morning by saying, “I am ready to get off the ride now”. She reminded me that the ride has only just begun. She was right.

Another Update

Sill there is nothing to report but swelling of my feet and legs. He still is not budging and I am still not showing any signs of labor. We go back on Monday and make the big decision regarding an induction or the C-Section. That is only if he finally decides to come ou before then. I do not think that is likely. Iam still not sure what route to take. The Dr said we could go either way.

Mike, Tara and Evan are here hanging out with Derrick and I. My little troublemaker Daisy, is reacting to baby Evan very well. Evan is adorable and so sweet!! Derrick is so ready to be a daddy, he handles Evan like a pro. I am so proud!!!
