Then and Now
Two years ago I had my bachelorette party on Okaloosa Island, FL. Just next door to Destin. Last weekend, me and some girls headed back that way for Nicole's bachelorette weekend. I was looking back at the pictures and was blown away on the similarities.
Then, my bootie
Then the bride to be, ME
I was without a doubt missing my little man. I had his picture in a frame with fish on it so he could blend in with the beach theme. He made his was to Florida. He spend is days in the sun both poolside and ocean side right by my side. I took the picture everywhere except the bars (he is just six months old). I did enjoy the time celebrating Nicole's weekend, but is was hard.
To end this trilogy of posts I want to say life had changed and will continue to change. Life two years ago was good. Life today is great. Look to the future and learn from the past. Good luck to Nicole, I love you girl.
(BTW they were henna tattoos)

BABY BREAK!!!
Pardon the interruption of the trilogy of blogs of how life has changed for some great pictures of da baby. He is just getting so big and active. He is scooting all over the house. Derrick George has figured out he can sing. OK no real words but he coos and oohs in such a sweet melody.

Goodby JP's
Mrs. Roberta referred to everyone as sweetie. She at one point in time had almost all of my male friends as bouncers. Oh and yes, Derrick was a bouncer for her when we first started dating. Mrs. Roberta would get just as sloshed as all the underage college kids. After a good night of boozing it up, she was known for locking the bouncers in and getting them just a hammered as she was.
Many young and upcoming bands played there including, Hootie and the Blowfish, Soul Asylum, Widespread Panic. Jupiter Coyote ,String Cheese Incident,Left Over Salmon,Collective Soul, Freddy Jones, Swingin Medallions, Grapes, Matchbox 20, Drivin-n-Crying, Blueground Undergrass, Col. Bruce Hampton, The Four Non Blondes, Derek Trucks, David Allen Coe, Donna The Buffalo, Sugar Hill Gang, George Porter Jr, Morris Day and The Time, Gov't Mule, Evan and Jaron, The North Mississippi All-Stars. There was one band that I would clear my calender for was Curiosity Shoppe. These guys rocked. The broke up many years ago but I still listen to the CD.
Wednesday Nights was Sink or Swim. All you can drink for the mega low price of $7 and still was when it closed. Friday night was ladies night. There were 2 stages. The front stage was really only used for the smaller bands, and guys with a guitar when the shake you bootie music was playing in the back. The back was where the big stage was. Every one had their name carved in the main bar. There was an upstairs but after my second year, I never saw anyone use it. The men's room consisted of a bathtub for all the men to relive themselves in. There were two stalls for the women. Most of the time only one of them worked. There were many times I ended up outside watering the bushes. Those were some fun times.
Man I wished that was there in 199?
The port-a-potty not the skeleton hanging on the dumpster
OK there are no bushes there now but all of this was wooded.
Here is the back door, again I had only seen this opened my first few years. It was a garage door that was spray painted HAZ MAT.

End of an Era
Hopper Hall was my home for two years. It was my first home away from home. I met many dear friends while living in this dorm. Do not get me wrong I knew some WHACK JOBS TOO!! I still keep in touch with some of the girls (the cool ones), not the whack jobs). I lived in 109 South and 158. OK they were the same room, between my two years they did a remodel and renumbered all the rooms. Now it is a pile of rubble
Here is what is left of HOPPER HALL
My room is just about where the bulldozer is.
Happy Birthday Heather
I am sorry that I was unable to wish you a Happy Birthday blog on time. So here it is a day late. Was you day a blast? Did you get drunk and dance with a lamp shade on your head? Or how about streaking? Any streaking? OK I know, tattoos and piercings. I knew it I knew it. You were showing off the new tattoos and belly button ring and deiced to go ahead and take everything and go streaking down to the neighbors house to use their lamp shade as a hat and dance!! I am glad you had a great day Heather!!

Jammin' in Jammies/ Six Month Stats
We had our six month check up and the oh so fun for the entire family' shots. Once again not the Jose Quervo shots we love but the ones attached to a needle. Harry Redface was back there for a few minutes. Man this kid can scream. After a few minutes he was back to his happy self. I noticed that there are so many baby girls out there. The waiting room was full of girls and 2 boys, Derrick and an eight year old boy.
Now the stats:
Height: 27 Inches
Weight: 18 pounds 4 ounces
I have plenty to blog about soon. I will be OOT this weekend. Me and some friends are headed to the beach for a bachelorette weekend. I hope to have some super fun pictures for you. Heather, I will have a special HAPPY BIRTHDAY blog for you. I know it will not be as sweet as yours was for me but I will give it a shot.
HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY HEATHER!!!!
My kid ROCKS
Derrick is lucky in that he "hangs" out with other kids (RJ 18 months, Kristen, 3 years) so that he can see how to get around and how to use is arms and legs.
After all the play and none of the "work" Little Man is down for the night.

A day at the beach
